The whole team is here in San Cristobal and we started language school today. Hooray! All those months of planning and dreaming have finally become a reality. Now, to make those dreams of speaking Spanish also a reality…

Phrase of the day (contributed by Elizabeth and Ruth): Estamos muy feliz estar en Mexico, pero nuestro maletas no están aqui. (We are here in Mexico, but our suitcases are not here.) No sabemos donde el equipaje está. (We don’t know where the luggage is.) El aerolínea no sabe donde los maletas están. (The airline doesn’t know where the suitcases are.) ¡Estamos frustrado! (We are frustrated!)

OK, so that was a long phrase, but I was using my homework assignments to practice the uses of ser and estar AND vent my feelings about no luggage. Pray that they show up here really soon! Like today! Like yesterday! Everyone has been great about sharing with us and language school is off to a good start, even without the luggage.

We’ll post pictures soon. I just need to remember, between practicing Spanish verbs and adjectives, to pull out my camera and use it.
