Team Activities

The Home Church has been supporting Joel and Loriann Matchak on the mission field for several years. Now you have the opportunity to do more – you can join them in Ukraine for a summer mission trip and be a part of their work! Members of The Home Church will be helping Joel and Loriann put on a children’s program in a village in central Ukraine. Children’s programs have been a large part of Joel’s ministry and he has developed his own curriculum that exalts Christ, teaches solid Biblical principles, and is also a ton of fun for kids and teachers. Other projects may include outreach using English as a second language, work projects, and visiting and learning about other ministries. The team will also have an opportunity for some sightseeing in Kiev, learning about Ukrainian culture, and experiencing Ukrainian village life.

Training

The Home Church and Joel and Loriann will work together to provide you with both the spiritual and practical training you need for this trip. Joel in particular will be training you in how to teach a quality children’s program across language and cultural barriers. You will return home with practical tools and experience in cross-cultural communication, children’s work, and demonstrating the love of Christ even when words aren’t effective. The time in Ukraine will also be an incredible faith-building experience as you see God at work in and through you in settings far from the ordinary.

Team Leadership

Pastor Luke Pollock will be leading this team with help from Sarah Matchak. Joel and Loriann will host the team in Ukraine.
