About Tim:
My name is Tim, and every day I am learning more and more what it means to trust my heavenly Father. I grew up in sunny South Florida where I am used to warm weather and the beach. I am very grateful for my family, in which I’m the eldest brother of two sisters and four brothers. We enjoy going on extensive vacations together and traveling around the world. Currently I’m enrolled at the International Ministerial Institute in Burnet, Texas, spending a lot of time meditating in God’s Word and seeking His face. When I’m at home in the off semesters, I help with the family real estate business, paint landscape oil paintings, and drive my younger brothers to soccer games. My passion is knowing and walking with Jesus, and desiring His Kingdom in our lives.
Tim’s Perspective on International Ministry:
A Global Encounter Mission trip gives one a new window through which to view life and the world we call normal. It is an opportunity to get out the box and to realize our need to totally depend on God. When you’re in a new place, with people you’ve just met, the food is different, and everyone is speaking a language you don’t know, all of your senses become heightened, and you tend to be open to hearing and seeing God like never before. Often, situations will arise that make prayer necessary and genuine. Many good friends I now have, I met on Global Encounter mission trips. Our tendency as Christians is to not live like we say we believe; the problem is that we don’t realize it. Short term International Missions has been a tool that God has used to make Himself more real to me—to test my faith as I test His faithfulness. Be prepared to depend on God and to allow Him to love others through you as you trust and obey Him. We are the light of the world; we are the salt of the earth—those who are privileged to be ambassadors for Christ and His Kingdom both here and abroad.
