Sarah’s Perspective on International Ministry:
“International ministry has always had a special place in my heart. Ever since my first international adventure (Mexico, 1996) my desire to see God work in and through my life while on short-term missions trips has grown. That initial experience opened my eyes and heart to the whole body of Christ at work. This quickly became my favorite part: getting to know and love the people of God around the world. I have seen firsthand how the Lord can go beyond language barriers and cultural differences to knit hearts together with another brother/sister in Christ. I’ve had the opportunity to encourage and be encouraged, to edify and be edified, to love, and be loved! I remember returning from that first trip just amazed at the world vision I had received of God’s work.
“It is my firm belief that every Christian, young or old, should seize the chance to go on at least one short term missions trip. I have learned so much from each trip I have taken and I wouldn’t trade those lessons for anything. Global Encounters has the perfect blend of a short-term missions experience: getting to know the people on a personal level, hard work, experiencing a different culture firsthand and being blessed by believers in other countries.”
