Are you looking for a way to invest your summer in something that will yield eternal results? In this beautiful country, rich with the heritage of missionaries like Jim Elliot and Nate Saint, there are still nearly thirteen million people in need of the Gospel. You may not be able to reach thirteen million, but you can make an eternal difference in the lives of a few. Come share Christ’s love and truth with the people of
Two children’s programs are planned for this team’s schedule - one in Quito and one in Esmeraldas. The purpose of the time with the kids is to share the Gospel, teach them Biblical principles and character, and be Christ’s hands of love to meet their needs. The pastors of the churches are very excited about a Global Encounters team coming to work with the kids and have told us to expect LOTS of children. We are going to need a good-sized team! In addition, there are numerous other ministry opportunities for the team in between projects with the kids. More details will be added as we know which projects are confirmed. Possibilities include shantytown ministry, street witnessing, orphanage and hospital visits, etc. In a culture of friendly people who are open to the Gospel, there are so many ways of sharing the Truth for which they hunger.
Team members will receive training in the children’s program curriculum, coaching in sharing the Gospel, and basic instruction in the culture, history, and language of Ecuador. You will return from this trip with teaching techniques and cross-cultural communication skills you can put to use anywhere. Your spiritual life will also be challenged and deepened as you see God at work, get to be a part of what He is accomplishing in the world, work with other dedicated Christians, and learn to trust Him in new ways.
Leaders will include Jacob Matchak, Elizabeth Fox, and Loriann Hodgdon.
