About Christie:
Christie Ballmann, CollegePlus! Academic Advisor, is delighted to join the leadership team to Peru in February. God has put a specific life calling in her heart to disciple college age students to live with an eternal perspective of spreading God’s glory among the nations. Christie loves to interact with people from different cultures. She has spent time in Honduras, Taiwan, China, Brazil, Peru, and Europe learning from long-term missionaries, teaching English, sharing chalk drawings, and exploring old castles. She resides with her family in Texas, working in a family insurance business, coaching CP! students, and mobilizing young adults towards world missions. Her interests include freelance writing, studying Spanish, hiking—rain or shine, and getting her hands dirty with Gospel Chalk Art.
Christie’s Perspective on International Ministry:
“My overriding passion is to participate in making disciples of all nations by reaching out to people who have limited opportunity to hear the Gospel. Since I was a child, I’ve been interested in missions and could hardly wait for the day when I would take my first international trip. All these trips later, I’ve never gotten over the wonder of watching God gloriously at work in and through His people, towards the nations. Traveling in foreign cultures has lead me to grapple with deep issues such as compassion, evangelism, suffering, and surrender, as well as the joys of service and gratitude. God works is a special way when we are outside our comfort zone. This is the vision that fuels my participation in Global Encounters, to help mobilize and equip Christian students to passionately participate in the Great Commission. I’m convinced you will come home with a broadened perspective that applies to every area of your life.â€
