Prepare for a missions adventure requiring faith, endurance and love. Remote, tiny villages scattered across the jungles of Chiapas are filled with people who need Jesus. This June, join a team of passionate Christians as they sleep in hammocks, teach children about Jesus, explore rain forests, share the Gospel, drink coconut milk right from the source, and maybe even jump a waterfall or two! It’s adventure missions at it’s best!
Clean water is one of the biggest physical needs in these jungle villages. Working with missionary Nathan Terrell, the team will help provide water filters to villagers as a meaningful way to build relationships and point the lost to Jesus Christ. The team will teach several children’s programs, ranging from a few days to a week. These programs are a fun and energetic way to teach practical, Biblical character qualities and to help children get to know God better through skits, stories, crafts and games. Orphanage ministry, practical construction projects, and plenty of life-to-life ministry are also on the itinerary.
Team members will receive training in the children’s program curriculum, coaching in sharing the Gospel, and instructions in installing water filters. You will return from this trip with a toolbox of ministry and cross-cultural communication skills that you can put to use anywhere. As you show Christ to others, you will also find that your relationship with Him will be challenged and strengthened. As you teach others of His love, your own experience of Him will take on whole new dimensions.
Christopher Schweickert and Amy Cook will be leading this team. Both of them love international ministry, love mentoring the team members, and more than anything else, love Jesus. The team will be hosted by Nathan and Julie Terrell and Steven and Grace Curry.
