Jungle Mission Team!

Step over the line and join a team headed for an adventure that requires an extra dose of faith, guts, and love. Remote and tiny villages are scattered across the jungles of Chiapas, filled with people who need Jesus. This July, a group of passionate Christians will leave comfort and showers far behind, sleep in hammocks, maybe jump a waterfall or two, or shoo tarantulas out of their kitchen while traveling from village to village and sharing the light of Christ with a people lost in darkness. Be one of them.

Team Activities

The team will teach several children’s programs, ranging from a few days to a week. These programs are a fun and energetic way to teach practical, Biblical character qualities and to help children get to know God better through skits, stories, crafts and games. Clean water is one of the biggest physical needs in these jungle villages. The team will work with Nathan Terrell on his project of using water filters as a way to show Christ’s love, build relationships, and find opportunities to lead others to Christ. Orphanage ministry is also on the schedule, making this a trip full of ways to get involved in life-to-life ministry.

Training

Team members will receive training in the children’s program curriculum, coaching in sharing the Gospel, and instructions in installing water filters. You will return from this trip with a toolbox of ministry and cross-cultural communication skills that you can put to use anywhere. As you show Christ to others, you will also find that your relationship with Him will be challenged and strengthened. As you teach others of His love, your own experience of Him will take on whole new dimensions.

Team Leadership

Christopher Schweickert and Amy Cook will be leading this team. They both bring experience, maturity, a love for people, and a love for Jesus to this assignment. The team will be hosted by Nathan and Julie Terrell and Steven Curry.
