Our day started with blessed sleep (many sleeping in until the last moment) and a trip to a male juvenile detention center here in Pucallpa (not that our guys were bad… ). Steven, Adrian, and Gene gave testimonies that seemed to touch those young men’s lives.
Next, the team traveled to a small church’s leadership meeting where Elizabeth told the group of pastors and leaders about why were had come to Peru, what we are doing, and talked about discipling the next generation of leaders. Afterward, Pastor Salazar and Nelson talked about what being in Christ and following Him truly means.
Next top on the list? The long-awaited lunch!
This evening our group had fun both in the large group skits and small group classes. Though I’d have to say that the kids had the most fun seeing our improv drama on the plagues of Egypt (the multi-purpose animal and balloon turtles for frogs were a nice touch).
We finished the night with ice cream at a local restaurant and headed to some welcome rest after a long and full day. Have we really only been here for two days?

One of the little boys attending our kids’ program can’t walk unless he uses a walker. He is the cutest thing and very articulate.
The parents’ session was going a bit long, so we finished off the evening with an impromptu rendition of Daniel in the lion’s den. Looks more like Daniel Boone in the lion’s den.
