Today was nuts, crazy, insane and any other words you can think of. We went to the HCJB radio station just across the street from the church where we have been ministering all week. HCJB is one of the most famous missions-based radio stations in the world. Located in the “belly button of the world” it is in a prime location for reaching over 89 percent of the world with the gospel. Broadcasting at one time in over 35 different languages, they have a wonderful history of spreading the message of God’s salvation to regions beyond reach. The staff there gave us a two-hour tour of the facilities and shared with us about their far-reaching ministry. It was really neat to see how far and wide God’s Word is being heard - all from Quito, Ecuador.

After a light rest in the afternoon, we returned to the church for the children’s program. I am on the game team along with Ruth. The kids were super hyper tonight during the games due to a generous amount of cotton candy….A man from the church offered to give it to the kids for free. To calm the kids down we played a rousing game of capture the flag and taught them some Russian. But I don’t think they quite understood my Russian. And the game didn’t quiet them down for some reason. All in all it was one of the craziest nights of the week, but the kids learned the importance of being wise stewards and how they need to give everything they have to God.

Oh, and happy 30th birthday to Jacobito! We all love you!

I was just reminded the other day that Jim Elliot gave his life for Ecuador!=) “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot loose.” You are a wise bunch! =0)

  4. love that ‘cotton candy’ picture. . . although, “oh my word”, all that sugar in all those children, and all at once. . . . I can only imagine.

keep abounding in the word ~ praying for the team and kids.
