On to Zaparozhe!

This is the single.php page.

We looked out our window this morning, yet again, to see the cow taking its morning walk. To our dismay, the owner was not walking with the cow, but laying in a ditch on the side of the road. Sarah and Ruth were able to help her up and get her walking again.

After two days of sightseeing and experiencing Ukrainian culture the team was able to take is easy and rest for part of the day. The team was able to take a walk to the office where Joel and Loriann work. Next to their office building is the CEF ministry center where Joel and Loriann often volunteer. It was very special to see where they work and minister.

dsc_0514In the afternoon we proceeded to transport all sixteen team members and approximately forty pieces of luggage to the train station in Kiev. After braving the crowds, and the heat, we managed to get everyone and all of our luggage onto the train. The team stayed in four compartments called kupes. dsc_0525Each kupe held four people in four small bunks (with all of our luggage!). Thankfully, even though the windows in our compartments did not open, we had AC. This was a huge blessing since it was at least 100 degrees on the train before it started moving. This was the first time for many team members to ride on a train overnight. It was definitely a fun and memorable experience. The Lord has truly blessed our travels and has allowed us to use that time to grow closer as a team.

Elyssa, for the team

Elyssa, for the team

We are very excited about staying with the Sobie family and meeting the people from their church. I cannot wait to see how the Lord is going to work in the hearts of the Ukrainian children and in the hearts of each team member.

Fact #6: The mopeds here appear to be family vehicles. =)

Just down the street from the seminary is the gate that leads to Joel and Loriann's cute little house.
