As the morning pushed through to my consciousness, I stirred to poke my nose out from under a mountain of blankets into the chill morning air. The adventure of a new day here in
After a delicious cup of coffee and our morning devotions we dove into an eventful day. The day was filled with interesting bus rides, delightful conversations with translators and friends as we traveled, and a priceless experience of the Latin culture in the Andes of Ecuador. The “exact line” of the equator was very interesting. It was kind of cool to think that with one quick step you could pass from the Northern Hemisphere into the Southern Hemisphere. We were a “divided team,” just for a short while!

As we moved breathlessly into the evening ministry of working with God’s children we were greeted with the excited chaos of niños and niñas running into the chapel. The evening flew by from our room on the church’s third floor, as craft team two moved quickly with not a dull moment passing. (Note of interest from the editor: a first for Global Encounters - a riot in the children’s large group session! As Joshua stoned Achan, the stage was rushed by children wanting a piece of the action. Bedlam ensued!)

Jericho with Israelites marching around.
A pervading thought for me during the evening was an ever-expanding realization of the sufficiency of El Padre, Dios mio. As I saw Jesus and His working I began to truly see and understand His greatness. Gracias Dios.
Breanna, for the team

“Achan, it was you!”

Ecuadorian cuisine… yum, yum!
Appropriately balanced… team leaders Jacob, Elizabeth, and Loriann at the equator.

You guys are doing a great work there in Ecuador. I was just reading “I Held a Shoe Shiner’s Hand Today” from the Aug 3 entry at http://therevmediaproject.blogspot.com/ and was brought to tears. I have the picture of you holding the cute little boy as our computer background! I love the article and all the pictures on ” Do Good Anyway ”
Truly God knew the people to send to Ecuador for this mission. We are with you in spirit and continue to pray for you all.
