Serve Where the People are Hungry

Economically up and coming, overwhelmingly Catholic, strongly influenced by a European heritage… all of these describe Argentina. But hungry? Yes! Spiritually hungry! The people of Argentina are very open to the Gospel right now. They are responsive to spiritual things. They are searching for deeper realities that will heal their hurts and give life meaning. If you know what it means to have a personal relationship with Christ that impacts the way you live daily life, you can give spiritual food to the spiritually hungry.

Do you enjoy working with kids? Do you have a heart for teens and good communication skills at their level? If either of those describe you, you’re the kind of person we need on this team! We will have lots of ministry opportunities at both of those levels. If you aren’t sure of your own skills, but want to serve and are willing to learn, join the team and we’ll train you as we go.

Team Activities

Working with churches and other ministries in Argentina, the team will be putting on a week-long children’s program that focuses on the Gospel and Biblical character qualities. It’s a high-energy program that is fun to teach and it is so rewarding to watch children and translators alike respond to the truths and principles taught through creative and memorable methods. The team will also help with a family Christian life conference put on by The World Needs Christ ministries. Responsibilities will include both the kids’ program and the teens’ program, giving opportunities for life-to-life ministry on several different levels. By providing these programs, we also make it possible for the parents to attend the conference and learn principles that often transform their entire family life. Additional projects include shantytown outreach, teaching in schools, street witnessing, construction and painting projects, and more.

Training

Team members will receive training in the children’s program curriculum, coaching in sharing the Gospel, and basic instruction in the culture, history, and language of Argentina. You will return from this trip with a toolbox of ministry and cross-cultural communication skills that you can put to use anywhere. As you show Christ to others, you will also find that your relationship with Him will be challenged and strengthened. As you teach others of His love, your own experience of Him will take on whole new dimensions.

Team Leadership

A very experienced team will be leading this trip. Leaders include Daniel Cavanaugh, Elizabeth Fox, and Dena Conzatti, all of whom have experience working in South America and other parts of the world.
