Chiapas: Missions Adventure!

One of the poorest regions in the western hemisphere, where malnutrition and poverty take their toll, where people still live in tribal villages far off the beaten track, where thousands still need the Gospel… it’s a mission trip destination for the adventurous who are willing to go offroading to take spiritual nourishment to those who desperately need it. Christians in Chiapas are also in need of encouragement. While it is safe for outsiders to be Christians, many natives till face active persecution and discrimination for their faith.

Do you enjoy working with kids? Do you long to share the Gospel? Are you willing to rough it? If that describes you, you’re the kind of person we need on this team!

Team Activities

Working with the Terrell family, veteran missionaries in Chiapas, the team will work with people in the jungles and mountains of southern Mexico putting on children’s programs, installing water purification systems in remote areas, sharing the Gospel door-to-door, etc. They will also help the Terrells with some of the projects around their mission station in San Cristobal. Come ready to work!

Training

Team members will receive training in the children’s program curriculum, coaching in sharing the Gospel, and basic instruction in the culture, history, and language of Mexico. You will return from this trip with a toolbox of ministry and cross-cultural communication skills that you can put to use anywhere. As you show Christ to others, you will also find that your relationship with Him will be challenged and strengthened. As you teach others of His love, your own experience of Him will take on whole new dimensions.

Team Leadership

This trip has a very experienced leadership team, both of whom have worked in multiple Latin American countries, including Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Argentina. Daniel Cavanaugh and Elizabeth Fox, will head up the team with the Terrell family as the team’s hosts.
